Office Of the Director, LSD/DFS, United Nations
I am part of the Director of Logistics Support Division which is a key component of the Department of Field Support. We're a diverse and dedicated team of civilian staff. We provide logistical support to UN-led peace building, peace keeping and political missions around the world.
The Division consists of three elements: Operation Support Service, Specialist Support Service, and Transport and Movement Service. Operational Support includes logistics, planning and program support. Specialist Support includes a range of technical logistics including supply, engineering, contingent owned equipment and property management, cartographic and medical support. The Transportation and Movements Service ensures effective logistics capabilities in terms of air transport, strategic air and sea lift of military and civilian personnel as well as cargo.
My coursework at Keller Graduate School provided me with some of the most fundamental skills that are required in any organization such as dealing with diversity and communicating across cultures.
I currently work in a diverse organization and my Keller experience prepared me to overcome cultural barriers and, most importantly, respect diversity. In addition, the hands-on and real world experience approach in the classroom provided me with the necessary tools to build on existing strengths and face various challenges in the work place and at home.
Serving on the Alumni Advisory Board gives me an opportunity to be part of a new beginning, which will help to shape the future of the DeVry and Keller alumni associations.
I have always had a passion for volunteerism, and have served in various capacities in different service oriented organizations. This includes LIONS International whose motto "To Serve" speaks for itself. Being a longstanding member reaffirms my belief in giving back.
