It was our honor to present the 2013 awards at six of our most active chapters. The agenda for the night was quite simple: recognize the achievements of the award recipients, reconnect with former classmates and network with new peers. To that end, nearly 700 guests enjoyed a night of dinner and dancing while also donating $9500 for scholarships.
DeVry University Celebrates Its Student Athletes for Their Olympic Achievements
Congratulations to the 15 DeVry University and Keller Graduate School of Management student athletes for their performances and achievements at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games.
Three student athletes earned medals and set records in Sochi:
- Steven Holcomb won bronze medals in both the two-man and four-man bobsled, and became the first U.S. driver to win two medals in the same games in more than 62 years. Holcomb is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems.
- Elana Meyers piloted the USA-1 bobsled team and earned a silver medal, along with the designation of now being the only U.S. bobsledder to earn an Olympic medal as a pilot and brakeman. Meyers is studying to obtain a MBA from DeVry University’s Keller Graduate School of Management.
- With a bronze medal finish, Erin Hamlin, a sustainability management student, became the first-ever U.S. Olympic medalist in singles luge.
